Ted Cruz is in deep doo-doo in his race against Colin Allred. I mean up to his lower lip deep. Look for Cruz to scramble to demand a recount by the time the sun rises on 11/6. This may well be the Year of the Woman Voter in the Lone Star State. If this happens, Greg Abbott could very well be unemployed in '26.

I do live in Texas, but how good my handle hold is is anyone's guess. I live on the west edge of Denison (there's one house between ours and the city limits), on semi-rural road that is two miles long with about 20 homes along it. The other day I got my '66 Mustang out and drove the length of it, then went north to a more-or-less parallel road on my return, so maybe another 15-20 houses. Driving that same rectangle in '20, about 1/2 the houses had Trump campaign signs, banners draped across houses and over carports. Even I didn't have a Biden sign, but I did have two "Vets Against Trump" signs bracketing my driveway, and two of my nearest neighbors, also veterans, displayed the same signs (I provided them) in front of their homes. This year? Two small Trump yard signs over the length of my street and one carport banner on the street north of mine. How is this gonna affect vote? Who knows. Maybe they won't vote, which, while not a vote for Harris, is not nothing. As for my fellow vets, one is so old he makes my 77 years look adolescent and his health is not good; the other (a retired Ford mechanic who is my Mustang's best friend) hasn't put any signage up either. But I do know he won't vote for Trump. To too many Texans, Kamala has three strikes against her: Black Female Democrat. That she's still at the plate and swinging away is more than they can ignore. And one last thing: I received the following link in a reply to a comment I made in yesterday's Bulwark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FciQeRGYFlw
I still can't believe how many Trump voters in focus groups rage on about Cancun Cruz and bring up the fact he left his dog unattended until a neighbor took the responsibility to take care of it. What is it about the GOP and dog abuse?
Maybe it started with Biden and Commander. They decided hey let's got after Biden and his dog and "own the libs". And the rest concerning dogs became history! :) :)
Caring for a pet requires empathy. And most R politicians have shown us repeatedly that this is something that they lack. I think this is true of a lot of gop voters, too; they don't empathize with other people and aren't upset at something until it happens to THEM.
ThatтАЩs certainly true about Republican politicians, but I know a lot of plain, regular Republicans who love their dogs as much as they love their kids.

I hope you live in Texas and have a good handle on the vibes down there then

Enjoy!
Maybe in this crisis, he will flee to Cancun.

Yep. Well said, Catie.
From your keyboard to God's ear!
Luv ya, Jeri, but making a Christian out of me is a Sisyphean undertaking... ;-))
Hey, she didn't specify which god!

Maybe he can take Abbott with him. And Paxton too.
Los Tres Putos.... or whatever the male equivalent is.
From your computer to God's eyes.
